Updates
Updates should reduce uncertainty
A product update is not just an announcement. It’s a contract with users about what changed, why it matters, and what they can do next. The clearer that contract is, the less support and interpretation the team has to provide later.
The trick is to avoid turning every release into a campaign. Not every improvement needs a hero moment. Some updates are best delivered as precise notes that meet users at the edge of their workflow.
Write for the next action
A useful release note makes the next action obvious: try this, ignore this, migrate this, or share this with your team. Anything else is usually noise.
